AshColl Foundation exists to strengthen the connection between Ashburton College, its people and the wider Mid Canterbury community.
We bring together former students, staff, families and supporters — helping old connections continue, new ones form and the achievements of the AshColl community be celebrated.
At the same time, we support current and future students by creating opportunities that help them make more of their time at AshColl, and what comes next.

A proud history. An exciting future.
Ashburton College has been part of the fabric of our community since 1965.
The Foundation’s own story began in 2016, when a group of community-minded locals — many of them former pupils — came together with a desire to celebrate the College’s history, reconnect its alumni and support future generations.
In 2026, that story entered a new chapter as the AshColl Foundation, with new Trustees, a new three-year plan and a renewed ambition to build lifelong connections while creating meaningful opportunities for AshColl students.
Our Impact
Revitalised in May 2026, the AshColl Foundation has a goal of creating a positive impact for Ashburton College and the wider community. We are at the beginning of this journey and are exploring how we can best support the College and its students in the years ahead.
The Foundation builds on the work of the former Alumni Trust Board, which facilitated an annual scholarship for an Ashburton College school leaver, generously sponsored by Nelson Building Society (NBS). The Board has also previously supported the College’s current Driving Licence Scheme.
As we look to the future, we welcome ideas from our community about where the Foundation could make the greatest difference.
